I believe that some brides really short change themselves by only considering "local" photographers for their wedding. You might want to consider the following thoughts before excluding non-locals. (Please allow me plead my case:)

1.) You probably exclude any possibility of hiring any of the best wedding photographers in the world when you insist on hiring "local"...because the odds of the local guys being among the world's best are pretty slim, right?

2.) You are not going to be able to tell a difference on where he started out from when he shows up at your wedding, are you? (Actually, I always try to show up at least an hour and sometimes two hours before a "local" would, on my out-of-town assignments, just to make sure I get there on time! And on winter assignments, I'll be showing up in my almost new 4-wheel drive car, too!)

3.) Him being "local" isn't necessarily going to make him do any better job, or even half as good a job, of capturing your wedding memories, just because of where his studio is located, is it?

4.) Him being "local" isn't any guarantee that he is going to save you tons of money on your purchase either, is it? Or give you better value for the dollars you do spend?

Well, I'm not actually located in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, or Dayton, OH, but I service all those areas just as if I was a "local". (I live equal distance --40 to 60 miles--from all three of those big cities!)

80+ percent of the assignments I do place in those cities and their suburbs! And, for what all they get for what they pay and for what all I do for them, none of my clients ever complain about my location, either!! They just seem glad they found me! [more]
